A Portal Rigid Frame consists of steel columns and steel roof beams rigidly connected to form a unified, gate-like frame unit. It is the most common form of light steel structure construction. Simply put, steel beams and columns are rigidly joined at their nodes to create a structural unit resembling a "gate"; when multiple such frames are arranged side-by-side, they constitute the primary load-bearing structure for an entire factory or warehouse. It is currently the most mainstream and widely utilized form of light steel structure, often referred to specifically as a "Portal Rigid Frame Light Steel Factory Building."

- Rigid Beam-Column Connections:The load transfer path is clearly defined, resulting in excellent overall structural rigidity. Unlike simple hinged connections, the beams and columns are rigidly integrated into a single unit, providing strong resistance against bending and lateral displacement.
- Lightweight and Steel-Efficient:Primarily utilizing H-beams and thin-walled steel sections, the structure is significantly lighter than traditional concrete structures, offering superior economic efficiency.
- Large Spans and Open Interiors:Single spans can easily range from 12m to 36m, creating spacious interiors free of unnecessary columns and ensuring high spatial utilization efficiency.
- Rapid Construction Speed:Components are prefabricated in a factory and assembled on-site using bolts or welding; consequently, the construction timeline is less than half that required for concrete structures.
- Simple Aesthetics and Flexible Layouts:The design allows for flexible arrangements regarding natural lighting and ventilation. The roof slope is relatively gentle, and the placement of doors, windows, overhead cranes, and mezzanines can be easily accommodated.
- Excellent Seismic and Wind Resistance:The structure's light weight and inherent ductility minimize the impact of seismic forces; when combined with a bracing system, it demonstrates exceptional overall stability.
- Dismountable, Relocatable, and Reusable:Primarily utilizing bolted connections, the structure is easy to relocate or modify, classifying it as an eco-friendly, prefabricated structural system.

Primarily used for large-span, single-story, and light-load industrial and civil buildings:
- Industrial Plants (machinery, electronics, textiles, processing workshops)
- Warehouses, Logistics Centers, Cold Storage Facilities
- 4S Dealerships, Automobile Showrooms, Retail Outlets
- Small Stadiums, Auditoriums, Exhibition Halls
- Aircraft Hangars, Agricultural Machinery Sheds, Large Garages
- Poultry Houses, Cattle Sheds, Breeding Greenhouses
- Office Buildings, Canteens, Dormitories (single-story or low-rise)
Generally not suitable for super-high-rise buildings, heavy-load bridges, heavy-duty metallurgical plants, massive long-span venues, etc.
